Well, Our Lady of Guadalupe continues to call me.
I got the movie Guadalupe, out of the local library, expecting it to be a dramatization of the apparition of Our Lady to Juan Diego in 1531. It was that, but it was also much, much more. The story of the apparition was interspersed within a modern story of a sister and brother archeology team and how Our Lady of Guadalupe affects their lives and the lives of those around them.
It is also a loving portrayal of Mexico, its beauty and diversity. It makes me want to visit there, as well as to learn Spanish.
The movie is a story about life, love, family and culture.
It is well worth seeing.
