The 5-a-Day Plan to Stay Sane

There are five simple things you can do each day to stay sane, according to Foresight, a U.K. Government think tank. Its Mental Capital and Wellbeing report says that doing the following 5 things each day will go a long way towards maintaining mental health.
1. Connect with others
2. Be Physically Active
3. Be Mentally Curious
4. Learn Something New
5. Give to Others

I think, in these days of busyness and isolation, these five basic lifestyle enhancers can be easy to overlook.

Hat tip to MK.

  1. So if I chat with you, go to the gym, read a book, search the net, write a poem and volunteer I should be just fine, right? Good pointers!

  3. here are 5 other things as well one can do:

Say prayers daily, especially the Holy Rosary
Get involved with Church activities and charities
    Foster a child
    Get to Mass every Sunday
Light candles in your Church for the homeless, the ill and the poor and the Holy Souls in Purgatory pray for the conversion of the entire world and pray for forgiveness of sins, and repentance of sinners world wide. Pray for the Holy Father and our entire Church.

  5. I would agree with this however (IMHO) I think number one should be daily prayer including time for complete silence before God, just "being" with Him. Then then the other five. Great post and list otherwise...food for thought.
