Poetry Wednesday

Red, gently applied over yellow
with a dry brush.
Cold apple.

This is one of my own poems, written in October of 2009.

  4. It's been said that haiku is an form to get the basics of, but extremely difficult to master. It certainly calls for poignancy with extreme brevity--and brevity is not my strong point! :-)

    But very nice job here!

  6. I meant to say that "It's been said that haiku is an EASY form to get the hang of..."

    I remember doing haikus in elementary school--teachers seem to love having their students do them. Maybe they would help me learn to say things in fewer words.

  7. My haiku almost never follow the 5-7-5 format. That would be a good discipline for me to cultivate, I think!
