Scripture Saturday

I lie down in peace and sleep comes at once for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.  ~Psalm 4:9
If we depend on God for security and safety, we will never be disappointed. Begin and end your days with the Lord, giving up trials to Him and remain open to what He wants you to learn. Then, peace will come.

  1. Last night was a prime example of this. I had a mole-like thing removed from my back during the day. Not too painful, but uncomfortable and somewhat anxiety provoking. I tried to play on the computer at night to relax, but it was having trouble -- requiring a virus scan. I could feel myself getting more and more tense. Finally I decided to just STOP. I put on a stress reductiong CD (soft music and nature sounds) and opened to Grace to calm down. I think I slept from 8:30 to 6:30. Amazing. Each time I woke up I opened to Grace again.

  2. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to do that. I know I do.

  3. The picture is a perfect match for the post. The subject reminds me of yet another scripture passage which Felix Mendelssohn set to music in his great oratorio "Elijah". "O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him and He will give thee thy heart's desire." As Elijah fled from Jezebel he really needed to rest in the Lord.

  4. Thanks, Barbara. That picture was harder to find than I thought it was. Your scripture verse is great. I don't think I knew that one.
