Coffee makers

Does anyone own a currently available coffee maker that doesn't leak?! From my quick research, leaking coffee pots are more the norm these days, and they certainly are in this house. Our circa 1964 white counter tops cannot take the constant staining with coffee and dh can't take instant coffee. I refuse to pay for new countertops until I can find a coffee maker that won't stain them.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  1. well ours dribbles when it pours so if i remember to pour it over the sink im fine.....but who can remember that beforeyouve had your first cup of coffee. with 3 dogs- two giant breeds and one large breed-- who track in dirt and mud daily-- the coffee stains match my walls and floors.

  2. LOL. I was wondering what you did. Our former coffee maker did the same as yours--and we tried to remember to pour it over the sink. Now, though, it leaks out the bottom somehow. Pain!

I want to find a coffee pot that doesn't leak! ;)

  3. Get a BUNN.
I went through 3 pots a year...then I forked out the money for a BUNN. It has lasted 3 years.

Mine is a Tim Horton's brand but you can buy them at specality coffee shops. They are well worth the money, fast and make great coffee.

  6. I have the same problems as MK, at least in the regards to the dogs. I suggest that if you like your coffee pot, put a piece of clear acrylic under the pot, covering the area where the coffee dribbles.

Actually, I used to have one with the stainless steel carafe that was insulated. I never had a leakage/dribbling problem with that.

However, if yours continues to dribble, send it to a basketball camp where it can learn to dribble properly. -- srk

  7. LOL! I found a great looking, very cheap blue tray in an Ikea catalog before I realized it was 2 years old.

  8. your terp niece here... just looking in and saw your dilemna... matthew's (incredibly generous) little brother gave him a ridiculously nice coffee maker for christmas and it is the most amazing thing i've ever seen. its a cuisinart, and i don't know the exact model, but its POTLESS!! the coffee brews internally, and you can push a little button thingy and pour one cup at a time or into your thermos. expensive, but totally worth it. no leakage and no mess either. you should look into it!
