Turns out, no one is a "star"

I'm going to go ahead and weigh in on the Star Jones/Barbara Walters controversy. Frankly, I'm surprised at Barbara Walters' behavior. She has been in the broadcasting business for longer than I have been alive. I would have expected her to rise above the fray and act like the professional she is rather than stooping to the level of tabloid journalism by joining in the "cat fight" that is now being aired across the country.

Any statement made by her "side" should have been made by the network and Barbara should have stayed well out of it.

  1. I have to admit I dont watch 'The View' but I am surprised that a cat fight is happening over what?

I did hear that Rosie O'Donnel has joined the team I just hope she leaves her 'agenda' at the door!

  2. Well, apparently The View fired Star and told her she could "save face" by announcing her leaving, saying anything she wanted. From what I heard, they agreed on a day, and Star pre-empted them by announcing it early, to the shock and anger of Barbara Walters. Both are "speaking out" to the press about it, which, IMO only makes them, especially Barbara look less than professional.

  3. 4hischurch,

I'd have to agree and it's sad that professional women would behave in this manner.

Wasn't Star Jones(name?) one of the original members and to be treated so badly....to be honest it STINKS!

After reading your piece I was watching a TV news program that stated that Rosie O'donnel insisted that Star Jones leave as a condition of her joining the crew.

I dont know how 'factual' that is..what a shame though.

Ty for letting me know 4hischurch. God bless you and your family.

  4. My aunt, who is 79, was appalled that they would fire her since she was such a "good employee" etc. I told her those days are over. People get fired for less than stellar reasons all the time--I could add--especially in hollywood.
