Clergy scandal statistics

The Cafeteria is Closed has some very enlightening statistics on the clergy abuse scandal. The victims were overwhelmingly male and overwhelmingly in the 10-17 year old age group. The highest number of perpetrators were ordaned during the 1960's and more were diocesan priests than order priests. 1970 saw the highest rate of incidences. The rate of vicimization begins to go down soon after the election of John Paul II. The numbers are enlightening and the trend is hopeful.

  2. Yes, it is hopeful. I think JPII's "Springtime of the Church" is happening.
