Divine Mercy

It's time once again to talk about Divine Mercy. According to the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, The Divine Mercy message can be summed up in three letters:

A -- Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

B -- Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

C -- Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.

God wants all of us to know His mercy, to experience His mercy and to show His mercy to others. Impossible?

Matthew 19:26
"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

  1. I love the way you broke Divine Mercy down into 3 clear stages. Above all, mercy is what we as Catholics desire.

St. Faustina: "Jesus, I trust in You."

  2. Actually, that wasn't me. It was from a Divine Mercy website. I'll have to go back and post the reference.

  3. Today is Yom Kippur, the holiest day for Jews, it is the day of attonement where, following the period between Roshashona (their new year) when the Book of Life is opened and then on Yom Kippur it is closed. I thought I'd bring this up becuase today is their day of Divine Mercy! They have three ways to this Divine Mercy: prayer, repentance (atonement, confession) and good works. They are fasting and spending the whole day in the temple/syogogue praying for Divine Mercy and for their name to be added to the Book of Life.

  4. Thanks for posting that, MK! You're right, that's very similar to the Divine Mercy message-- Asking for mercy, Being mercy and trusting in Mercy.
