Here is the first movement of Pergolesi's version of Stabat Mater Dolorosa. Here is the Latin:
Stabat mater dolorosa
Juxta crucem lacrimosa,
Dum pendebat Filius.
And the English:
The grieving Mother stood weeping
beside the cross where her Son was hanging
I did a photo essay of the seven sorrows of Mary for this day. I've recently begun praying the Seven Sorrows Rosary, but I have yet to get in the habit of praying it daily.
ReplyDeleteI have never prayed that Rosary yet. Today would be a good day to start, though.
