Michael Savage (radio personality) said that the pope, like Jesus, gave up his life, his body, in making his remarks about Islam to free us, the Church, so that we can see the truth. Savage said the the pope is to well educated to make a oops-mistake like that....that it must have been calculated on some level. I dont know if Savage is a Catholic and he certainly is very strongly political. However, it was a fascinating commentary and I think a person's opinion can be valuable and instructive on one level even if it is not "right." My other thought and I plead with you all on this, I know there are ex Catholics, lapsed Catholics, and Catholics who remarried wrongly and cannot take the sacraments....but on some level, we must unite in prayer. I have been thinking for a while that nothing prevents teh biggest heretic from saying the rosary. I ask you all, probably very faithful Catholics, to inwardly adn outwardly radiate unconditional love to these people for they do love the Church or some aspect of it even if they speak and live against it. We must unite in prayer and NOT wait for everything to be perfect before we devote the time to become prayer warriors. Do not hesitate to share your faith with an ex catholic or a lapsed catholic. Not to change them or be "right" but to just speak of the goodness, the reasonableness of our God. It's so important in the face of evil of Islam and in the face of our own evil. Catholicism is once again in the media and I think God can use this to His glory in some way. BTW, its my Bday...hehe!!!
Fingo: Sure, steal away! Cool blog, btw--A Dymphna blog in German--Neat!
MK--I was wondering when you'd weigh in on this subject! Interesting you should talk about uniting as Catholics-exCatholics, etc. I read somewhere on a blog or message board re: this subject recently, where someone who was NOT catholic said, "We are all papists" now that the Holy Father is being persecuted. I love your idea about sharing the "goodness and reasonableness of our God." Great! Maybe I'll blog on that.
4HisChurch:)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks we have placed that banner on our own Blog.
May we continue to pray for our Holy Father and those who serve the Church in these most dangerous times.
Peace of Christ to you:)
Marie
Thanks 4HC! I'll put mine up as well. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteThanks...I just added it.
